Westergate House
York
At a glance
Westergate House is an adults-only bed and breakfast in Deighton, around four miles south of York. The property has the character of a small country house, set within an acre of mature gardens and arranged to give guests a calm base outside the city. It suits couples, friends and small groups seeking a comfortable stay with straightforward access to the surrounding area.
Six individually styled en-suite rooms provide a choice of accommodation, with interiors influenced by local history and each room given its own character. The room selection includes king rooms, a twin room and a single room with a double bed. Guests have a private part of the house to enjoy during their stay, while the owners live separately on the property and remain nearby when assistance is needed.
Breakfast is freshly cooked each morning and forms an important part of the bed and breakfast experience. The setting is suited to unhurried mornings, garden views and time spent away from a busy city-centre base. Free on-site parking is available, with an electric vehicle charging point offered for an additional fee.
Getting into the city is simple without relying on a car. The regular 415 bus stops just outside the house, and a Park & Ride site is approximately two miles away. The location also works well for wider Yorkshire trips, including visits to the coast, the North York Moors and nearby towns and villages.
Westergate House welcomes guests aged 16 and over for standard stays and does not accommodate dogs or other pets. The property can also be booked for exclusive use, making it suitable for a special occasion, family gathering or get-together with friends. Exclusive-use bookings can include children, with families expected to bring any essentials required for younger children and supervise them throughout the stay.
