Description
Roman Tour: Explore Roman York. See the towering remains of the mighty fortress, find out what it was like to be a soldier, and listen to stories of the emperors, gladiators, and even ghosts of Roman York! Includes: Fortress ruins; remains of the Roman Walls; Roman column at York Minster; Constantine statue. Distance 1.5km (just under 1 mile). Begins at Exhibition Square and finishes outside of York Minster. Led by Chris Geeson – tour guide, museums’ learning facilitator, and workshop leader. All tours are aimed at KS2 or KS3 but can be adapted. Group sizes should be up to around 30 pupils. Youth groups and home school groups also welcome.
